Leanna has always had a challenge with her hair. Due to the length and nature of her hair she found wearing it up the easiest solution. With her hair down she felt it overtook her face, however she kept the length as the weight of her hair kept it from becoming to ‘frizzy’ and sticking out.
When Leanna came to see us we conducted a series of questions to determine what she was ideally looking for in a hair style, how much time she had to spend on her hair and what things she found challenging with her current style.
Through the course of the consultation we discovered that Leanna ideally would have loved to have short hair but was very concerned that it would look to 'fuzzy', She did not have time to blow dry or straighten her hair and she found both tasks difficult with the amount of hair she had.
We took into consideration all of Leanna's concerns and also how we could create the style she really wanted, knowing that the shorter hair would look fantastic. We came up with the following solution.
With her current style Leanna's face shape did appear longer, especially when she wore her hair down. Her body shape was very slight and petite and her hair certainly over powered her whole physique. Leanna's hair was very thick and coarse and her concerns for a shorter hair cut were just. The shorter length would certainly balance her body and face shape and give her a more youthful appearance.
The plan:
- Cut the hair to a shorter length
- Layer the bottom to ease the weight
- Let the hair style settle for a couple of weeks
- Permanently straighten the hair
- Put onto a hair care program to maintain the condition of the hair
Permanently straightening the hair allows for the hair to be washed and either dried naturally or dried off with a dryer. The cuticle becomes smoother, the hair looks shinier and the 'frizz ness' disappears. We are very particular of the product we use and the condition of the hair remains the utmost importance.
Leanna's hair was perfect to straighten and the end results were fantastic. She now has a hassle free hairstyle with the length she wanted to have and not only has it given her a more youthful look her hair is healthy, shiny and in fantastic condition.
